CONSISTENT CHOP LENGTH
The BiG X's ability to produce a consistent chop length from 2.5mm to 40mm means quality forage is in the DNA of every BiG X forage harvester.
A choice of drum configurations, combined with stepless adjustable feed rollers, allows the appropriate chop length to be selected to suit.
SPEED UP THE FERMENTATION PROCESS
Silage is made when beneficial bacteria pickle the grass preventing spoilage and preserving nutrients. Fermentation only starts once all the air has been removed from the clamp.
A consistent chop length to suit the crop's dry matter content will improve the consolidation in the clamp. This in turn will speed up the fermentation process.
HEADERS
Chop quality starts with the header. How the crop is collected and fed into the forager will impact on the finished result.
The EasyFlow grass header, X-Disc whole crop header and EasyCollect maize header are all designed to gently collect and present the crop to the feed rollers.
FEED ROLLERS
KRONE pioneered the 6 feed roller concept and from the beginning it has formed an integral part of every BiG X Forage Harvester.
Producing a staggering 4.6te of pressure ensuring the crop is firmly held at the shear bar, the feed rollers create precise cuts.
The hydraulic drive allows step-less adjustment of the intake speed, easily adjusting the length of chop on the move.
INCREASED PRODUCTIVITY IN SHORT CHOP LENGTH
With a choice of 20, 28 or 36 knives, the MaxFlow drum is an all-round drum designed with precision and speed in mind. The blades are set at 11" to effortlessly slice through the crop and the throughput is maximised due to the profile of each knife, their profile maximises the crop carrying capacity, delivering high throughput.
DRUM DESIGN DELIVERS HIGH PERFORMANCE
The Biogas drum is equipped with 40 knives and will produce a chop length as short as 2.5mm, ideal for the anaerobic digestion of maize.
sMOOTH OPERATOR
Consistent chop quality is driven by consistent performance. Varistream is designed to produce an even crop flow, even in irregular swaths.
With spring loaded plates under the chopping drum and behind the accelerator, VariStream delivers blockage free, smooth operation, even in uneven swaths allowing the BiG X to be utilised to its limits and reduce fuel consumption.
